Karrie AuBuchon, Yoga Bala studio owner, has partnered with the Christina Phipps Foundation to offer space for Oncology Yoga. Go to their website to review all of the offerings at Yoga Bala

For CPF Oncology Yoga classes go to the CPF calendar at https://www.christinaphippsfoundation.com/classes

Karrie also offers a 50 hour yoga teacher training course. It is an immersive and comprehensive program designed to deepen one's understanding and practice of yoga, while also preparing trainees to have the confidence and knowledge to share yoga with others’. Throughout the course, participants delve into various aspects of yoga, including its philosophy, history, and the art of teaching.

Under the guidance of Karrie AuBuchon, aspiring yogis will explore yoga styles, such as Hatha, Vinyasa, Yin, Restorative, and Chair Yoga to name a few. They will learn the foundational yoga poses, proper alignment, and sequencing techniques to create balanced and safe classes for students.

The training not only focuses on the physical aspects of yoga but also emphasizes the connection between breath, body, and mind. Participants gain insights into pranayama (breath control) and meditation practices to cultivate mindfulness and inner peace.

Beyond the practice of yoga postures, the course delves into basic anatomy relevant to yoga, understanding how the body moves and how to prevent injuries during practice. Trainees also be introduced to the principles of Ayurveda, to comprehend the importance of a holistic approach to well-being.

Trainees will practice teaching, receive constructive feedback, and refine their communication and presentation skills. This practical experience helps build confidence and prepares them to lead classes with clarity and authenticity. Students that are taking this course for personal growth will not be required to teach during the 50 hours training (though, I will encourage you to do so J).

This Yoga Bala immersion course is a transformative journey, not only in terms of physical practice but also in personal growth and self-awareness. Trainees often discover a profound connection to yoga's ancient wisdom, as well as a sense of community and support among fellow students.

During this training we have special guest teacher, Gail Akin. With crystal bowls, bells, chimes, and more Gail will introduce this transformative and meditative practice that harnesses the healing power of sound vibrations to promote relaxation, balance, and overall well-being. The soothing resonance produced by crystal bowls can have profound effects on the mind, body, and spirit, creating a harmonious environment for self-healing and inner exploration.

Sound healing with crystal bowls can be used in conjunction with other healing modalities or as a standalone practice. It is suitable for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, as it requires no prior experience or specific beliefs to benefit from its effects. Whether seeking stress relief, emotional healing, or simply a meditative experience, sound healing with crystal bowls offers a unique and immersive journey into the realm of sound and its profound impact on our overall well-being. Upon completion of the course and meeting the required standards, participants receive a yoga teacher 50 hour certification. It's a fulfilling and rewarding path that allows graduates to inspire and guide others on their own yoga journey towards health, balance, and self-discovery.
