Laura is a licensed therapist and clinical supervisor in her private practice in Blacksburg, VA. Her therapeutic specialties include anxiety, depression, trauma, LGBTQ+ issues, trauma and mental health informed yoga, and IFS (Internal Family Systems) which promotes self compassion.
Laura is also a childhood cancer survivor (Acute Lymphotic Leukemia), and participant in the “Long Term Follow Up Study,” which is one of the largest epidemiological investigations of late effects outcomes of childhood cancer. Her experience with cancer survivorship and professional background, provide a unique perspective on the impacts of cancer on mental health.
She loves spending time with her family and pets, camping, hiking, reading, and being creative with art and house projects. She finds comfort with yoga and meditation, the color green, and finding humor in both the beautiful and messy parts of life.
