Above you see the beautiful props CPF donated to our CPF teachers at UF Flagler (formally Flagler Hospital).
In 2011, when CPF first started yoga class at Flagler Hospital with Dr. Sheri Wallace teaching, we slowly put together a team of yoga teachers. This team, committing to once per month teaching, was how we were able to provide free, weekly yoga to the cancer community for so many years. Our CPF Flagler team system was a model for many other facilities all over the US since 2011.
This is one of the few hospitals that has a large wellness space where we can offer restorative yoga. The space holds many exercise classes, and even has storage for yoga props.
Restorative Yoga is a style of yoga that encourages physical, mental and emotional relaxation. It is a gentle, supportive, slow paced. The practice includes deep breathing, supported yoga poses and meditation. Many props are used, when available.
